The Beginning of 2010

Andy and I decided to go out this year instead of staying home...It was so much fun. I felt like we were dating again! We went to dinner and then country dancing and made it until 1205 before we wanted to go home and go to sleep...haha. We really enjoyed ourselves as we haven't done that since we got married 3 1/2 years ago! We took lots of pictures...here are the cutest ones.

Along with our New Year's celebrations, we also got to spend a lot of time over the holidays together. It was wonderful. We spent a lot of our time doing some spring cleaning to our garage and apartment. It feels so much better now that we have cleaned out what we don't need anymore and reorganized. We also bought new couch slip covers and feel like we have brand new couches! The Mujica family has also joined a snuggie cult! We all have our very own blue snuggies...very funny story that goes with it. Bert bought one set and got one free, but the company ended up sending him three sets so, the whole family now has one. Here are the pictures of our couch and our snuggies! By the way, they are super warm and great when you are reading...just like the commercial. LOL!

I feel we are ready to move now...if we could just finalize when/where that is going to be. So, let me tell you that story. Andy got selected for a job in Colorado (highly competitive...so we are very proud) but his career field manager would not release him from his current job due to a critical manning situation. Basically there are not enough people in the Air Force that do his job so Andy can not do anything else right now. He discovered that it looks like it may stay that way through his next promotion as well. So, he is settling in with the fact that he will stay in maintenance for awhile longer before getting the opportunity to do something else. However, over Christmas another opportunity came up. This job is an instructor job (within his career field) that will keep us at Travis for four more years! People are fighting for him to be selected for this, but again it is up to that mean career field manager to make the final call. We are very much looking forward to hearing about this new opportunity. If it does not go through...we will stay at Travis not knowing how long or when we may possibly be reassigned. This is frustrating when we really want to buy a house and settle in for a bit. So cross your fingers for us! We will keep everyone posted on that situation. Regardless, I think we are going to buy its just a differing price point that we will buy at if we are locked in for four or have an unknown time left here...So, on to upcoming events. Andy and I are both taking a break from school this semester and will spend our time a part (still on different shifts) studying for Master Sergeant (E7). We are both hopefully and excited about the possibility of making this promotion in our first try. It is definitely possible if we focus and prepare well. This will bring more opportunities for us, career wise, and also a pay increase, which is definitely a plus! We are continuing with our active lifestyle as well by spending free time mountain biking, skiing, and whatever else we find to do. Triathlon season starts in April so it is time to start preparing for another good year of fun, challenge, and competition. So, life is good and busy as normal for us! I hope everyone else is well and had a wonderful holiday. We'll keep ya posted on our status as we go.
