Retraining

Happy Birthday to ME!!!! and Cami, of course. I received the best news today. I have been waiting for two months to find out if I will be allowed to retrain into a new careerfield (job) in the Air Force. I was approved today!!! What a great birthday present. I will be transitioning from a personnelist (admin/human resources) to an education and training manager (training programs/human resources). I don't leave for school until June, but am so excited. It is a two month school. This job will help me to continue building experience for the civilian world in human resources. This coupled with my MBA/HRM degree will hopefully help me get a good job after retirement from the military (10 years left). I hope to teach college students or continue with school after my masters to get a teaching degree so I can teach 4th or 5th graders! One day I hope to own my own small business to keep me busy once my kids leave home. No kids yet...but maybe in a couple years. We hope to find out in about three to four months if we will get an assignment to another location with this new job. We are hoping for Washington, Colorado, South Carolina, or North Carolina. We will share the news as soon as we have it.
